History
Villa Antona Traversi in Meda, as it appears today, is the result of the transformation of the monastery of San Vittore operated by the architect Leopoldo Pollack in the first years of the nineteenth century. The millennial female monastery of San Vittore was suppressed May 29, 1798 by a decree of the Cisalpine Republic, the nuns were expelled and the property, including the premises, sold at auction.
Location
Starting from the church of San Vittore, built in 1520 and still intact with frescoes painted by Bernardino Luini and his schoool, the Villa contains unique environments such as the Chorus Hall, the former internal church of the Monastery, still decorated, the Cloister, the Limonera, the Hall of the Masks and the Octagonal Room. We still have the complete Archive of the monastery, with more than 7.000 documents, kept in the Hall of the Angels.
Villa Antona Traversi offers a wide variety of spaces, both inside and outside, which make it a unique setting for the organization of events and receptions.
